Having a blast learning Norwegian words today… for the time being, my choice languages are… Italian and Norwegian. I have to hold off on Irish at the moment. The problem with using computer programs to learn Irish, I have noticed is that there are too many dialects to possibly account for. Each Irish person I have spoken to, depending on their region says the same word differently. I always thought that “dia duit” meant “How are you?”, but I can’t find anyone who recognizes that very wording. There are a ton more examples.

Looks like I have to work Yule Eve, though I really don’t mind… it’s no different than the last six years, except that this time, since Yule falls on a Saturday instead of during the week, it just means I get holiday pay and a holiday work schedule. Have to be in an hour earlier… Why not? We’re down enough people… my boss probably doesn’t need anyone canceling at the last second. I’m not going to do that to him.

Well… looks like Liliana’s going to be coming with me a lot more during work… my office computer is so locked down that I can’t do anything… he was never this locked down before. Not sure what changed, but I can’t even run Git, for the gods’ sake. Was just trying to edit some documentation in markdown, and I can’t even do that.

I guess from a purely work prospective, it’s good, but it means a lot less for me to do during the day without my personal device; thankfully I can bring her with me. If my job didn’t get so boring sometimes… LOL Love it, but when it’s dead at the office, it’s dead at the office.
