Differences in Faith: Reflections on the Day Most Of Us Call "Easter"

More Updates

As time wares on, I have noticed more and more things about myself which I haven’t been able to admit to anyone else. No one in the Pagan community told me how hard it was going to be to have to pretend around the rest of your mostly Christian family, that you still believe in the same or similar things to them; Sunday is Ostara. Nowadays, that’s what I think of it as…not Easter. the difficult thing? To still pretend on holy days like this. that “Easter” in the Christian form means anything to me.

My Jesus Status

I have probably read too much, but my belief in Jesus, while present still, I wonder whether the day we call “Easter” was actually the day of this man’s resurrection. It’s something that I have been thinking about for quite a while now, and has only grown more tenuous the more about Jesus' history I read. While I still believe that Jesus was a teacher, minister, and all around good person, I no longer see him as the only son of the divine. I say “of the divine” rather than “of God” because I have shifted my beliefs on that for quite a bit now, too, but will save that for another post. More to come.
